HONORARIA POLICY
Funds from commercial support may be used to cover appropriate and reasonable expenses and honoraria to the activity director, speakers and other ‘bona fide’ employees of the educational activity. The commercial support cannot be transferred directly from the commercial supporter to the individual. Letters of Agreement (LOAs) for Educational Grants regarding those funds must be reviewed, approved and signed by the AANS. - Industry representatives or other financial contributors of the activity must not have any influence over the amount of honoraria
- The honoraria payments must be made to faculty within 30 days of the activity
- The joint sponsored organization is to issue 1099’s in accordance with Internal Revenue Service Guidelines
